Air Pollution?

Smoke hanging over cities is the most familiar form of air pollution. Air pollution occurs when the air contains gases, dust, fumes or odour in harmful amounts. The substances that cause air pollution are called pollutants. Pollutants that are pumped into our atmosphere and directly pollute the air are called primary pollutant.Primary pollutant examples include methane which used as refrigerant will cause deteriorating effect on Earth's ozone layer. Meanwhile, sulfur dioxide from the combustion of coal causing the formation of acid rain.

The health effects of air pollution have been reported in research studies over the past 30 years. These effects include respiratory diseases such as asthma, cardiovascular diseases, changes in lung function, and death.Airborne chemicals entering the digestive system include well-known toxins such as pesticides, organophosphate, dioxin, arsenic, lead and mercury. In addition occupational exposures to airborne pathogens can cause cancer.

Take a look at this video and check out the the facts about our environment. It shows the consequences of air pollution. It's pretty scary. We have the ability to do something about this and we must take action now. Waiting for the government to do something is not enough, we have to be proactive and start by being the solution to the problem.

Everyone is responsible to reduce the "carbon footprint" to generate clean air environment. The another video that I would like to share is funny video that produced by Clean Air Network (CAN). The video is an ironic 1980s-style infomercial flogging a fake brand of canned air called "Fresh Air." Instead of frightening viewers, CAN seeks to enlighten viewers by taking a sarcastic approach to the issue of health, lifestyle and air pollution. Daniel Wu has decided to get publicly involved in championing clean air for Hong Kong. Daniel Wu said, "I wanted to do my part to raise awareness about how air pollution is affecting everyone in Hong Kong."
